MOORE FOR THE MONEY
I’ve always been a big fan of Michael Moore, the filmmaker.
From ‘Roger and Me’, to ‘Bowling For Columbine’, to ‘Farenheight-911’. The guy never ceases to provoke, entertain and to perhaps, enlighten. Granted, the guy has never had a problem completely obliterating the truth, but that’s not my point. He is a great filmmaker. AND… to make it all the more important, Moore’s films are DOCUMENTARIES. And, in a world of narrative filmmaking, however you stand politically, you have to give the guy even more credit.
Therefore, from a ‘film-making’ stand point. The guy’s pretty good.
That said, I love filmmaking. I’ve studied Leni Riefenstahl to a degree that would make most Cambridge professors puke.
Does ‘that’ make me a Nazi? Of course not.
Does that make Leni a genius? Christ, yes.
No matter where you stand. As a filmmaker… She was incredible.
Point? If you have half a brain, then you can separate genius from virtue. Talent, from morality. Moore from the truth and Strauss from a stack of dead Jews.
Unfortunately, many of history’s greatest artists were pigs.
Talented, yes. Inspired…?
Absolutely.
Geniuses, but certainly not poster children for a better tomorrow.
And so, as an independent… I’m forced to think for myself. (And, therefore, criticized by those on both sides.)
But… I LOVE film.
Check this out.
Here is a film that had no script. Nothing other than the voice of it’s own insanity.
Everything that you ‘hear’, was recorded by the subjects themselves. No politics, other than that wished for by the subjects themselves. No video, but the video shot… by them. No message, but their own.
A message created by scum. Spoken by scum…
And (ironically) denounced by the same.
Unheard of.

All right, I can comment now..
It was absolutely brilliant and I sobbed at my computer, and I mean really sobbed, as much as I sobbed watching the twin towers collapse live on my TV screen in ‘01. If I told you what I think I’d be here all night and its late, I need some sleep but not sure I’m going to get any after watching that.
The worst thing about it is that I personally feel so powerless to change anything, what can I personally do to stop the actions of insane people, sobbing at my computer won’t do a bloody thing except smudge my paperwork.
Any answers anyone?
I haven’t watched the film. Mostly because I’m at work and could possibly forget by the time I return home; my brain is small. I did, however, poke around on the interwebs and read about it. Sounds interesting and also like one of those pieces that is probably trying to show Muslim extremists in a negative light but will also appeal to said Muslim extremists — it is a documentary all about them, afterall. Hm.
Of course, there are people who will watch it and walk away all shocked and appalled thinking that all Muslims are like that, which is just silly. It’s as ridiculous as saying all Christians approved of the Crusades or all Germans were Nazis or pagans like to eat babies.
I’ve always found the rivalry between monotheistic religions a very strange thing. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity can all trace their roots back to Abraham and they esentially worshiping the same god. They all believe Jesus was a real person, but the Jews believe he was a false profit, Muslims believe he was a prophet (not the Son of God), and well, you know, the Christians build that massive religious infrastructure around the Son of God. There are many more similarities that generally aren’t talked about or taught in those 10 years of Roman Catholic religion classes I took.
Actually, I’m wondering if it would be different in a Muslim school. At least Islam conceedes that Judaism and Christianity have the same origins — they’re just a little confused. Judaism thinks Islam and Christianity are mixed up versions of Judaism, so… you know, at least they’re seeing the similarities too. Christians, though acknowledging Jewish roots (which, you know, they only stole their whole Holy Book), think Islam and every other religion are false and their followers are going to burn in Hell. Nice. Way to be neighborly.
An interesting thing to note is that in Islam (and Judaism), humans are equally capable of good or evil, with no natural tendency towards one or the other. Conversely, in Christianity, humans are, thanks to Adam and Eve, born with original sin and a tendency towards evil (of course, it reads more like, “humans are dumb and easily tricked by the shiny things Satan waves around”).
… Now I’ve kind of forgotten where I was going with this. Probably something about how the world would be a whole lot nicer if people would just keep their religion in their pants and stop trying to cram it down other people’s throats. Besides, shouldn’t you want the evil heathens to burn for eternity? That would leave a whole lot more room for you and yours up in the eternal paradise. Really, don’t worry about the rest of us - why crowd it up with all those extra people?

Glad you found a link that works, the one I found was the full length movie I think (goes for 15 minutes yeah?) but your new one is better quality.
What make’s Moore’s documentaries so entertaining is the same thing that makes them mostly BS - - - he picks a theme/message and runs with it. (Figuratively speaking. We all know Michael Moore couldn’t run fifteen feet without coughing up a lung.) Of course, loyalty to the theme also requires the fastidious removal of all contradictory information. i.e., lying by omission.
The film by Fitna is unbalanced, of course. There are many peaceful Muslims around the world, though their conspicious silence toward the maniacs who have supposedly “hijacked” their religion is disturbing. Dissenting Muslims inevitably draw death threats and must live in fear. “Muslim rage” has become so common, when I hear about a Muslim protest, I think, “What are they pissed off about now?” The irony is exquisite - - there have been 11005 Muslim terrorist attacks around the world since 9/11 but THEY are angry. Wow.
Someone wrote, “Christians and Jews say ‘I will die for my religion.’ Muslims say ‘YOU will die for my religion.’” As the film shows, the Q’uran literally demands that Muslims kill infidels/non-believers. Those are marching orders so you know there’s gonna be trouble. The apologists and pacifists better wake up and smell the hummus.
As you may recall, I’ve written a bit on the subject of Islamo-Fascism, so I’ll just provide links to some of them below instead of getting myself worked up writing about them (terrorists) any more than I already have. I’d rather discuss the mating habits of mollusks than waste breath on garbage like them. I think that’s an accurate analogy, by the way. Like all garbage, it must be taken out. The longer it’s ignored, the more rancid it will become.
I salute you for spreading the word and having the courage to voice your convictions rather than being paralyzed by the desire to be politically correct, as so many are nowadays. As the old line goes, “Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.”
